Keypad (DTMF) Agent
A keypad agent plays a short message and a menu, then acts on the number the person presses on their phone — snooze future calls, transfer to a real person, opt out, record a choice, and more. There is no AI conversation; it is a fast, reliable phone menu.
How a keypad call works
- The agent calls the contact and plays your Welcome Message followed by the menu (for example, “Press 1 to confirm, 2 to reschedule, 9 to talk to us”).
- The person presses a key on their phone keypad.
- Veytrix runs the action you mapped to that key, optionally speaks a confirmation, then ends the call (or connects the transfer).
- Every keypress is logged under Insights → Keypad Activity, and any snooze / opt-out appears in the same place.
The six actions a key can do
| Action | What it does | You configure |
|---|---|---|
| Snooze | Pause future calls to this number for a while. | Minutes to pause. |
| Transfer | Connect the caller to a real person’s phone. | The number to dial. |
| Opt out | Never call this number again (Do-Not-Call). | — |
| Record | Log the caller’s choice (confirm / cancel / rating / RSVP / consent). | A label, e.g. confirmed or rating:5. |
| Repeat | Play the menu again. | — |
| Hang up | End the call politely. | — |
Create a keypad agent in Agent Setup
- Open Agent Setup and click New.
- On the Agent tab, set Agent type to Keypad (DTMF).
- Write the Welcome Message — what the agent says first.
- In the Keypad menu editor, write the menu prompt. Read the options out loud exactly as the keys are configured below it.
- Add a key for each option: choose its action and fill the action’s field (minutes for snooze, number for transfer, label for record). Add an optional “Say before acting” line to confirm the choice out loud.
- Optionally set the wait time (how long to wait for a key) and re-prompts (how many times to replay on no/invalid input), then Save agent.
