Knowledge Base

Knowledge bases control what the agent can answer during the call. Use them for FAQs, policies, job details, course information, support instructions, and eligibility rules.

Knowledge Base

A knowledge base is reference text such as FAQs, job details, course information, company policy, pricing, eligibility rules, or support instructions. Link one or more knowledge bases to an agent from the LLM tab. The content is provided to the agent during calls so it can answer from your facts.

Create a knowledge base

  1. Open Knowledge Base from the sidebar.
  2. Click New Knowledge Base.
  3. Enter a name that describes the content, such as Java Full Stack FAQ.
  4. Add an optional description for search and team clarity.
  5. Paste content or import a .txt / .md file.
  6. Keep content under the 60,000 character limit shown in the drawer.
  7. Click Create Knowledge Base.

Attach a knowledge base to an agent

  1. Open Agent Setup and select the agent.
  2. Open the LLM tab.
  3. Under Add knowledge base, tick the documents this agent should use.
  4. Save the agent.
  5. Run a test call and ask a question that should be answered from the document.

Knowledge base writing tips

  • Keep one document focused on one topic, such as one job role, one course, or one policy area.
  • Use direct Q/A pairs where possible. Example: Q: What is the stipend?
  • Write exact rules for eligibility, salary, location, dates, and next steps.
  • Tell the agent in the prompt what to do when the answer is not in the knowledge base.
  • Large documents can slow the first response slightly, so avoid dumping unrelated content.
